Good to Know -- Deliveries and Fees.
The drivers have a tough job and are under a lot of time pressures. Most do a great job. But, they are typically in a rush to unload and get to their next stop – and, sometimes, that means they can be late or arrive unexpectedly. And, sometimes shipments get delayed or lost. Drivers are often unfamiliar with the nuances of your business’s receiving set up. This means that, without careful communication and planning, additional fees can add up quickly. You could miss your delivery and be charged re-delivery and/or storage fees, be rushed to accept a delivery that is inaccurate/damaged and have to pay to return/re-ship the items, or unknowingly incur extra fees for allowing inside delivery or unplanned use of a liftgate. It's also not uncommon for carriers to charge post-delivery fees (like for areas near construction) that may or not be valid. Sometimes these designations are in the carriers’ systems, but out of date. And, sometimes, fees are incorrectly charged and need to be dealt with. You need someone keeping an eye on things, so you receive your items in good condition and in a timely manner.
